Erika - thank you for breaking this down in such an understandable way! I have been a teacher at LBHS for 26 years and have never had to worry about our district covering our health benefits until now. The sad thing is, there has been so much wasted money - superintendent payouts and raises, an increase in attorney fees, moving graduation, creating positions that are not necessary (like a VAPA Coordinator). I wish this board would prioritize students and show more appreciation for the teachers. That is how it has always been UNTIL this board majority took over.

So true! I cannot imagine getting a small COLA raise and then having to turn around and pay it right into rising healthcare costs. Our teachers and staff deserve to be compensated fairly.
